From the sentimental old tradition Toward a modern new city
Amiability, Probity, and Service
The Tai-Ya aborigines are the original habitants of
Heping. During the
period of Japanese occupancy, the Heping village belonged to the Tongshr sector,
parts of the aboriginal administration area. After the restoring of
Taiwan, Heping was included into the administrative area of Taichung and was
named "Heping village" (the village of peace). The village
included 8 pueblos: Nanshr, Tianlun, Bosi, Zyhyou, Daguan, Jongkeng, Lishan, and
Pingdeng.
